Team Mom connection did an excellent job raising money for Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society. Our team total was $2500 and over all Woodward CO. raised $78,000! Amazing effort everyone. MC would like to thank Justin Spaeth with Advance Escort and Cory Reid with SPC Office Products for sponsoring our relay team this year.

Looking Into 2010-2011

Alright MC moms, I need your participation in a little Q&A. I want your thoughts and opinions about last year and your ideas for next. What did you LOVE, LIKE, or rather PLEAD THE 5TH?

LESSON: Did you enjoy the lessons on mothering? What would you like to see next year in regards to the lesson (more biblical/scriptual, just for fun, mom facts, current issues, hot topics)?

CRAFT: Did you enjoy the crafts? Would you like to see more/less crafts?

FOOD: Did you enjoy the food? Thats a dumb question, I think we all LOVED the food aspect of our meetings.

TIME: Did you feel you had adequate time to participate in MC? What would you like to see for next year (start/end times)?

Shower for a Cure???

That's right ladies! Our last meeting is upon us (May 19th) and we WILL be having a baby shower. If you are new to Mom Connection let me explain. Each year on our last meeting we party down baby shower style. Each mom brings a baby gift to be donated (nothing extravagant) and we play those wonderful baby shower games. This year will be NO different. All baby gifts will be "donated" to our MC Relay For Life auction basket, which is going to be so awesome in itself, being a CRIB not a basket (here at MC we go BIG). So I hope to see you all there, AND EVERYONE BRINGS FOOD!

Congrats!!!

Congratulations Momma's! We have met AND EXCEEDED our Relay For Life goal of $1500. Let's not stop now girls. I have purchased the beads for our "night of" fundraiser keychains. Relay is only a month away so dust of your sneakers and get ready to walk for a cure!

A meeting will be planned a week or so before Relay night to share the gameplan, assign duties, and celebrate all the hard work ;)

Upcoming MC Meeting

Hey moms, we meet again Wednesday (3-10-10). We will be doing a super cute and CREATIVE craft. Since spring is in the air and approaching we will be painting terracotta pots, flower pots. You will need to bring your own pot and MC will provide the paint and brushes. We will have to begin on time in order to provide enough time for the paint to dry, so please be prompt. See you in a few days and don't forget your pots!

Relay For Life Meeting

Hey MC moms! So Brandy and Kari attended the first RFL captain meeting and came back with tons of info to share. Here it goes...

*Each team member needs to fill out a registration form. These have to be turned in ALL at once and no later than April 20th. So at our next MC meeting (Feb24) we will do this. Very simple very fast. You MUST be there!!!

*Online fundraising will be available to you AFTER registration forms are turned in.

*Corporate Sponsors: We can indeed have more than one sponser and their donation of ATLEAST $150 (preferably $250) will get their company name on RFL tshirts and recognition the night of the event. TeNeil's husband Justin has already agreed to sponsor but more are welcome. Our team name, Mom Connection, needs to be written on the sponsor brochure.

*Night of Relay Fundraiser: This will be a fundraiser we do the night of the event. We were able to turn in our idea of a "string of beads" (catchier name welcome) and it was accepted. So the night of the event we will be selling a string of beads for $5, one bead for each lap, special bead for each mile. Money raised will go to team total but will NOT take the place of our individual goals of $100.

*Basket Auction: On the night of the event RFL will host a basket auction. Each team is responsible for a basket. Ideas of past were, wheel barrow full of gardening supplies, "PINK" basket, "Movie Night" basket, ect. Our idea as mothers is a "MOTHERING" basket or "Baby" basket. The bigger the better. If we could get an old crib/bassinet (good shape) to fill with baby stuff (blankets, bottles, diapers, toys), parenting books (What to expect books), relaxation items (maybe mani-pedi gift certificate), the sky is the limit really.

*Individual fundraising ($100) should start now. When money comes in it should be turned into Kari asap. She will keep track of individual totals as well as team total. At the captain meeting Brandy and Kari set a goal of raising $300, so lets try to get $300 by March 23rd (this is optional, a way of getting teams motivated)

Mom Connection Joins Relay For Life

Hey MC moms! This year MC will be participating in Woodward County Relay For Life. Our team is formed in memory of MC's own Paula Anderson who lost her life to cancer last year. At our next meeting, Feb. 10, we will have guest speaker Jonna Wyrick from RFL come and speak about the event and help us get started. If you are interested in joining or know someone who is let Brandy or Kari know.
